Description
On October 20, a patient (69 years old, LH) came to see me because she had severe positional vertigo and it was causing her great anxiety and restlessness. She had been to the doctor the days before and had been given morning exercises, which had improved the dizziness somewhat. Now she wanted to look at the issue with me after the 5 BN and together we quickly found the cause:
She was camping in Italy at the end of September and on the 2nd or 3rd day she had very severe dizziness in the morning, so that she couldn't get up at all. It is still going on now. When she arrived at the campsite, she “fell into a real hole” (her words) because the place was so crowded and completely different to what she had imagined. (Case conflict in the figurative sense and as it says in the book!). This bewilderment about the botched vacation still lingered, in addition to the symptoms that she couldn't explain until then.
I could directly see how my explanations relaxed and relieved her, she could fully understand.
What's more, the persistent dizziness brought her not only anxiety but also a gain in health because her partner was making more of an effort to look after her. This realization also brought her a smile and an aha.
Biological sense in this case: the dizziness meant she didn't have to get up, could rest and withdraw. She didn't have to expose herself to all the hustle and bustle. That was also very harmonious for her.
These insights and the balance exercises alone have significantly improved her condition within a short space of time and she is now symptom-free.
Best regards, Maria

Thank you Maria for the nice report. “Falling into a hole!”
A case conflict. The individual is forced by the vertigo to consolidate, to stay on safe ground. The aha and the clarity about the “advantages of dizziness” brought healing - thanks to you.
